IR-EW15 BallastRack™ East/West 15° Fixed Angle Double Solar Panel Rack

  • Building Permit NOT Required For Most Installations (See Documentation)
  • Built To Withstand Hurricane Force Winds Up To 180 MPH
  • Extended Energy Production Hours Throughout The Day
  • Capable of Racking 2 Very Large Commercial Solar Panels with Each Rack Frame
  • Extreme Corrosion Resistance (Costal Rated) With Stainless Steel Hardware
  • Multiple Mounting Options Available
  • No Concrete Footings, Earth Augers, or Post Pounding Required
  • Incredibly Fast Rail-Less Solar Panel Installation
  • Lowest Cost Per Watt Solar Panel Racking System On The Market
  • 20-40% Better Energy Production On Cloudy Days VS High Angle South Facing Arrays

The all new IntegraRack IR-EW15 BallastRack Double Solar Panel Racking System builds on the proven and intuitive design features of our traditional single panel per frame BallastRack system, but now enables twice as many solar panels to be installed per rack frame. The IR-EW15 is an absolute game changing new technology. It's super simple design makes this new racking system the fastest, easiest, and most cost-effective utility-scale solar panel racking solution on the market today.

The East/West facing layout of the IR-EW15 BallastRack, you can install many more solar panels per square kilometer with no need to space the rows apart for shading. This layout also provides extended energy production throughout the day, capturing more energy in the morning and evening versus South facing systems. Additionally, an East/West system can produce more energy during cloudy days, when the sun light is more diffused.

With the innovative design of the IR-EW15, solar panels can be installed up to 6 times faster with far less heavy equipment and less intensive labor, and there is no need for concrete footings or earth augers, as this system can be easily ballasted or installed using one of our specially designed mounting kits. Constructed from aircraft-grade aluminum, this system is rigorously engineered and tested to withstand the harshest environmental conditions. All of our products are backed by a 25-year warranty.

This product conforms to UL 2703 Mechanical and Bonding requirements

Multiple US and international patents pending

All of IntegraRack products are rigorously  tested by DiversiTech, and then rigorously tested again by Phoenix National Laboratories for material stress testing, simulated wind load testing, and simulated snow load testing. Wind tunnel testing for uplift, drag and rack frame stress was also witnessed by Phoenix National Laboratories, along with aeronautical engineers at the University of Washington. Phoenix National Laboratories is Internationally accredited to ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standards by Perry Johnson Laboratory Accreditation, or PJLA.

Mounting Options

IR EarthBallast™ Mounting Kit

Our IR EarthBallast™ Kits come with a pre-cut roll of commercial grade geotextile fabric made for soil retaining wall retention. The kit also includes a high-strength 15 minute fast setting epoxy to bond the geotextile fabric to the base tube of each frame. By pulling the fabric tight across the base tubes, this creates a trampoline type effect with a 2" air gap underneath the ballast. Once the heavy soil or crushed rock is loaded on suspended fabric, it will such down the rack frames with incredible force. See our Stamped Engineering & Datasheets for your specific frame model to determine how much weight is needed per module section.

*¾ x 12" round concrete forming steel stakes are required

PRO TIP: Ballast with light sand or crushed light colored rock for increased bifacial gain

*1" Conduit Pipe / EMT (NOT included) is required to link the frames together and can be sourced at any local hardware or electrical supply store. Our Base Tube Composite Pipe can also be used instead of EMT.

*Two ¾ x 12" round concrete forming steel stakes are required for each frame to provide added strength and easy leveling of the system.

IntegraRack “BallastRack” solar panel racking frames, when ballasted in accordance with our published data sheets, are considered temporary/movable retail finished, pre-engineered backyard accessory fixture. Therefore, according to IBC, they do not require a building permit, so long as the racking fixture is not over 5 feet 9 inches (1753 mm) in height (see Chapter 1, Section [A] 105.2 of the 2018/2021/2024 International Building Code (IBC®)). Furthermore, the BallastRack solar panel rack frames can also be used for the storage of tools, water tanks, or other storage items, while utilizing the solar panels themselves as the weather shelter.

*If you need to achieve a higher wind speed rating for your installation, you might want to consider our BallastSlab™ mounting option.

*In some counties, anchoring the system with bolts on concrete, or other anchoring systems may require engineering and/or a building permit.

*Some counties may have different requirements for classifying temporary structures. Please check with your local Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).

IR EarthScrew™ Mounting Kit

Each IR EarthScrew Kit includes ten screws to install up to five frames. This kit provides fast and easy installation and leveling in almost any terrain with incredible strength.

*The IR EarthScrew is not recommended for silt/sand or rocky terrain, only dense compacted soil types.

*Each IR EarthScrew must be tested in soil at installation site to ensure they can withstand a minimum of 1,000 pounds of uplift.

*Professional installation recommended

IR SlabBallast™ Mounting Kit

Our IR SlabBallast Mounting Kit provides enough hardware to install up to 20 solar modules with this mounting option, and comes with strong concrete anchor bolts and two concrete drill bits. Each IR-EW15 Frame can be direct bolted to pre-cast concrete slabs (site specific engineering may be required) for the strongest possible wind resistance.
